Eclectic Yarn in community artspace

I’m busy sorting my artworks to hang in the Roderick and Gillian Deane Community Art Space at Paraparaumu Library.

How many works to display? Arranged by date or theme? It’s exciting!

My exhibition begins on Saturday 23rd May 2026, and lasts for a fortnight. I’ll be spending some time there, and there’ll be a catalogue of the fibre artworks showing which are for sale, and how to buy from my online shop.

Great feedback

It’s so lovely to hear back from purchasers once they’ve received their fibre artwork! I’m so happy “Vivid Meadow with Silver Birches” has found a good home.

Festival’s “Regenerate” challenge

I set off entries today (April 2025), for the Creative Fibre Festival’s “Regenerate” challenge – three fibre artworks I designed and handstitched. I’m really looking forward to the Festival of Fibres in Christchurch next month! This, if you’re interested, was the brief: https://festival2025.creativefibre.org.nz/challenge/

Update: May 2025
Since the Festival’s over I can now post images of the fibre artworks

Quirky villages support Women’s Refuge

I’ve decided to donate a percentage of all sales in this range to the National Collective of Women’s Refuges. I sold a number of quirky village fibre artworks before Christmas 2024 and will add 10% of those and future sales to my regular support for the Women’s Refuge ‘Gift a Safe Night‘ program.
Women’s Refuge is New Zealand’s largest nation-wide organisation that supports and helps women and children experiencing family violence. On average, 52,000 women and children are referred to their services each year. A $20 Safe Night helps a woman and her children escape family violence.

Stitching a surprise! workshop

In September 2024, I designed and lead a workshop on Stitching a surprise! Creating pattern-free, process-led fibre artworks for Wellington Embroiderers’ Guild. I’d be happy to facilitate similar workshops for interested groups or individuals.
